Yata Chhen is an architectural design and renovation company run by Jitendra Shrestha for the past 8 years. Jitendra initial vision for the company came as he renovated his own house in Swotha, Patan. Although completely dilapidated, he sought to renovate his house preserving all the facets of its Newari architectural history while at the same time endowing it with modern amenities and luxuries. Since its completion in 2002, it has become a model in promoting renovation and cultural conservation in Nepal. With three spacious studio apartments with their own kitchen and bathroom, Jitendra has allowed countless people to share Newari style living with him.
